On Wednesday 17th July, our CEO Kate Stephens was invited to join an audience of inspirational women for a very special broadcast on BBC 5 Live, in the beautiful setting of Chandos House.
At the event, Melinda Gates spoke to Laura Whitmore about female empowerment and her incredible book ‘The Moment of Lift’. This book tells of Melinda’s journey from a partner working behind the scenes to one of the world’s foremost advocates for women, driven by the belief that no one should be excluded, all lives have equal value, and gender equity is the lever that lifts everything.
During the broadcast, Kate had the pleasure of discussing the power of clothes and confidence and asked the following question:
At Smart Works we often see a moment of change in our client, when they look in the mirror and realise they can do this. Is this a theme you’ve come across in other settings, and what role do you think self-confidence and self-belief has to play in women’s empowerment?
