Last night, on Monday 21 October, it was a pleasure to welcome Fashion Club members to the Wallace Collection to listen to British Vogue’s Sarah Harris and Ellie Pithers, in conversation with Tiffanie Darke.
Sarah and Ellie shared behind-the-scenes insight into the editing of the UK’s fashion bible British Vogue, thoughtful comments on the challenges of sustainability and the future of the high street, as well as of-the-moment styling tips (black velvet or tux for the office Christmas party).
We were also moved to hear from our client Jacqueline, who perfectly summed up the evening when she spoke about the Smart Works community and the inspiration she had received from our volunteers, staff and our Royal Patron, HRH The Duchess of Sussex.
Thank you to The Wallace Collection for giving us such a beautiful and enriching space for the event. It was wonderful to see the galleries full of warmth, energy and inspiring conversations.
Smart Works would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the brands that donated to our pop-up shop and raffle (Madeleine Thompson, Sophie Anderson, Linda Farrow, Alex Gore Brown, Zoe Jordan, Urban Code, Elizabeth Cole, Octavia Hix, Libelula, Athena Procopiou, Verandha, Anya Hindmarch, Jimmy Choo, Mother of Pearl, and Arteseno). Together they helped to raise over £10 000 on the evening, vital funds that will go straight towards helping more women to be their best.
